Philosophy

American Dream Guitars handmade in Switzerland.
My guitar building focuses on traditionally designed and hand-built OM (Orchestra Model) and 000 (Triple-0) guitars. These two types share the same body, but the 000 has a slightly shorter scale length. It is clear that the ancestors of my guitars are the various OM and 000 models made by C.F. Martin & Co. between the 1930s and 1950s. However, I draw my inspiration more from contemporary (mainly American) boutique guitar makers.

The "Essential"

The Essential M is the original model in the range. It is a guitar that offers a lot in terms of inner and outer values, but without any “bells and whistles”. The top is made of Sitka spruce, the back and sides are made of mahogany, as is the neck. The fretboard, bridge, and headstock cover are made of East Indian rosewood.
It is characterized by its simple and lightweight construction with forward shifted X-bracing, as was used in pre-war Martins. Based on the Essential M, there are many variations and upgrades available for:
  • Top wood
  • Back and sides
  • Fingerboard and bridge
  • Bindings
  • Tuning machines
  • ...
Many of these upgrades are available at no extra cost as custom orders.
